Language barrier

Many patients for whom English is a second language will revert back to their native tongue and require extra support.

Telling someone with dementia they are in hospital is not helpful at the best of times
For this patient, who can no longer understand English, all she sees is people shouting at her
She is understandably distressed and needs to be made to feel safe
